Our partners from PNU have published a new scientific article titled “Utilizing Remote Sensing Data to Ascertain Weed Infestation Levels in Maize Fields“ in the journal Agriculture (Section: Digital Agriculture).
This study explores advanced tools for weed analysis and management to support agroecological practices in organic farming, focusing on digitalization and remote sensing. The research demonstrates the potential of Sentinel-2 and drone-based multispectral imaging for effective weed monitoring and prediction, enabling precise, chemical-free weed control strategies.
By enabling early identification and targeted management of weed infestations, these tools mark a significant step toward digitalizing organic farming, promoting sustainability, and reducing reliance on herbicides.
