AGROSUS participated in the 1st Mediterranean Agroecology Congress (AEMED 2025), held from June 9 to 12, 2025, in Sicily, Italy. This conference highlighted the crucial role of agroecology in enhancing Mediterranean agricultural systems, addressing challenges, and promoting sustainable practices.
The AEMED conference brought together farmers, researchers, and stakeholders across the Mediterranea region aiming to be a crucial event for building a common and sustainable vision for Mediterranean agriculture, improving and preserving the resources and cultural heritage of a territory rich in history and biodiversity.
Our partners from UVigo, Yedra Vieites Álvarez, David López González, and Eva González García, represented AGROSUS at this important congress. Yedra and David presented two posters. The first titled “Effect of two bioherbicide prototypes, Hilusei and Hijasei, on the germination of Hordeum vulgare L. and Lolium rigidum Gaudin”, and the second, “Agroecological strategies for weed management in potato cultivation: A comparative analysis within AGROSUS project“. Meanwhile, Eva González García gave an oral presentation titled “Effects of agricultural management on nitrogen and carbon uptake in soybean: an isotopic approach.”
It was a pleasure to be part of this congress and contribute to advancing knowledge on key developments in Mediterranean agroecology.
