On October 29, 2025, two major AGROSUS project events were successfully held at the Fruit Growing Experimental Station of the University of Agriculture in Garlica Murowana: a co-validation workshop and the second Focus Group. Organized by our partners at UAK, these events marked an important milestone for the Continental and Alpine regions.
The event brought together 36 experts representing diverse sectors of agriculture. Participants included farmers; representatives from the Małopolska Agricultural Advisory Center in Karniowice and the Podkarpackie Agricultural Advisory Center in Boguchwała; the Małopolska Chamber of Agriculture; the Małopolska Agricultural Advisory Association; the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (Krakow Branch); as well as students and scientists from the University of Agriculture in Kraków (UAK).
The primary objective of the workshop was to verify and co-validate agroecological weed management strategies tested in field experiments. Discussions focused on the results and challenges associated with the cultivation of soybeans, potatoes, and winter wheat in the Continental bioregion, and spring cereals in the Alpine bioregion.
The program featured dynamic and constructive exchanges, addressing current agrotechnical and economic issues as well as challenges related to sustainable agricultural development. A highlight of the day was the presentation by Professor Kazimierz Klima, who shared insights from a multi-year crop rotation experiment conducted at the Mountain Experimental Station of the Department of Agroecology and Crop Production in Czyrna Niżna. Participants also benefited from a lecture by Professor Barbara Niwińska, recently retired from the National Research Institute of Animal Production, on the potential of lupin cultivation as a promising source of feed protein.
The AGROSUS team from UAK in Kraków was represented by: Dr. Agnieszka Synowiec, Dr. Marta Czekaj, Dr. Maciej Gąstoł, Dr. Monika Szafrańska, and Dr. Łukasz Satoła.
We sincerely thank all participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions, which are essential to the ongoing success of the AGROSUS project.
