On March 12, 2024, the AGROSUS project partner, Malatya Turgut Ozal University, hosted a productive co-creation workshop at the Black Sea Agricultural Research Institute in Samsun, Turkey. The event brought together experts, researchers, and stakeholders to collaborate on key challenges and solutions for the Black Sea bioregion’s agricultural sector.
The event started with a comprehensive presentation of AGROSUS project including its methodology and the different bioregions and countries involved. Also, the presentation highlighted the range of crops to be tested throughout the project, and the key objectives and ambitions for the future.
Following this presentation, the participants started a discussion and evaluation of crop protection for the most problematic weeds, hazelnut and persimmon. The conversation also focosed on the agroecological measures for weed control and crop cultivation aspects with a final evaluation of the survey results for farmers and stakeholders.
Finally, the workshop ended with an active discussion between all the participants, which turned out to be a wonderful way of exchanging ideas and identifying future challenges. This collaborative dialogue was an excellent opportunity to strengthen partnerships and shape the future of sustainable agriculture in the region.
